Inverted Repeats (palindromes)

Palindrome is a sofware tool developed by EMBOSS that looks for inverted repeats (stem loops) in a nucleotide sequence. It works by finding all possible inverted matches satisfying the specified conditions of minimum (10bp) and maximum (100bp) length of palindrome, maximum gap between repeated regions (100bp) and number of mismatches (0) allowed. Secondary structures like inverted repeats in genomic sequences may be implicated in initiation of DNA replication.
